The top competitor in the world when it comes to technology innovations, search engine expert Google is facing a law suit from CamUp over Youtube sharing capabilities that the start up CamUp alledges Google stole.
According to Mashable, Google is facing copyright infringement charges from New York start-up CamUp over a video-sharing feature used on Google’s social network, Google+. The lawsuit is accusing Google of stealing the “watch with your friends” button from CamUp, where a similar button currently directs users from YouTube to a Google+ Hangout page where multiple people can video chat while viewing video content together.
CamUp claims Google unlawfully implemented the concept after a meeting in 2011 where both groups met to discuss possible future collaboration and the company is seeking damages with an injunction to ban the use of the button on YouTube and Google+.
