Jonathan Holt Arrested in the murder of Whitney Heichel. The body of missing Starbucks Batista 21-year-old Whitney Heichel disappeared on Tuesday on her way to work has been discovered in a remote forest in Oregon.
Police have arrested her neighbor 24-year-old Jonathan Holt on suspicion of aggravated murder, Gresham police said late Friday night.
Holt who lives in the same apartment complex as Heichel, and husband was detained after police discovered inconsistencies in his stories during two interviews conducted. According to ABC News Whitney Heichel’s cell phone was discovered in bushes by kids. One of the children’s mother said: “The kids started flipping through some of the text messages … from her uncle, and there was one from Scott that was trying to find out “where are you. Are you OK?’ So I mean it just kind of confirmed it to me that it was her cell phone.” Her Ford Explorer was found miles away from her home with a broken window and mud on the tires.
Whitney Heichel was reported missing by her husband after she failed to show for her 7 a.m. shift at a Starbucks in Gresham, a suburb of Portland.
Family and friends conducted an extensive search for the young woman, including setting up Facebook groups.
No motive has been established in the crime, and police aren’t giving many other details other than, they believe they have the right person in custody.
