A 60-year-old Karen Wright is facing misdemeanor charges following her arrest for exceeding her allotted time at a Riverside City Council meeting, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reported Thursday.
The Riverside City Council tapes and posts each meeting and posts the video tape on their website.
This City Council meeting where Wright was arrested however was not posted. The Mayor called for a recess during the arrest proceedings. Camera’s are typically shut off during a recess.
Following the incident Mayor Ronald A. Loveridge passed a rule saying that the only person who can decide upon whether an individual should be arrested will be the chairman (who is the Mayor).
