While women wearing intriguing and somewhat revealing clothing at the even widely known as Comic Con, Mandy Caruso reveals sexual harassment at Comic Con.

According to the Daily Mail , 23-year-old Mandy Caruso reveals sexual harassment at Comic Con as she reveals her experience when she dressed in a racy costume for the event. Dressed as super heroine Black Cat and wearing a skin-tight leather outfit, Caruso revealed in a post on her blog that it is common for her and other women with similar attire to be sexually harassed by overzealous fans.

Describing her latest experience at the New York Comic Con on her Tumblr blog the Grind Haus, she explained how men would take pictures with her ogling her breasts. She went on to describe about a camera crew filming her and claiming to be filming a feature on fans when in reality would not stop inquiring about her breast. She recalled how she angrily stormed out the interview, unwilling to answer sexually-charged questions about her body.

Her blog post stated, “It’s because many people at these cons expect women cosplaying as vixens (or even just wearing particularly flattering costumes) to be open/ welcoming to crude male commentary… like our presence comes with subtitles that say. I represent your fantasy thus you may treat me like a fantasy and not a human in a costume. But that does not mean we have to put up with s*** that crosses the line, it does not mean we owe them a fantasy, it does not mean we dress up to have guys drooling over us and letting us know that we turn them on.”

While the experience was not an overall pleasant one, Caruso was in no need of a Super Man to defend herself when it came to those harassing her. In her post, she wrote a valuable lesson, “Don’t keep quiet because you’re scared of what they might say or think – because if you say nothing they will continue to see what they’re doing as OK.”
