Mayor Bill Finch was elected in to office back in 2007 by an overwhelming majority vote of 76%. Prior to being elected as mayor, Bill Finch served as both a city council member, and a member of the Connecticut State Senate. Finch, a Democrat, has publicly expressed concern and interest in “green” technology and other environmentall conservative programs. Since becoming mayor, Finch has helped pass bills that provide for the energy sustainability of Bridgeport. Bridgeport is a bustling Connecticut town with a population of approximately 150,000 residents. Finch has been a supporter of many green initiatives, and believes that it is important to make progress towards the energy sustainability of our major cities.
