Usually we show videos of hard hits being put on offensive players. This time the tables have turned, and this time around we are going to have to show you a hard hit delivered to a defensive player by an offensive running back who was running full speed ahead. Donnell Kirkwood delivered an unusual hit, which stunned many fans abroad.

Minnesota Golden Gophers’ running back Donnell Kirkwood hit Northwestern defensive back Ibraheim Campbell so hard that the sticker on Kirkwood’s helmet came off.

 

Donnell Kirkwood is a sophomore at Minnesota, who is originally from Del Ray Beach Florida. He is playing in his second season of NCAA Football, and has rushed for a current total of 6 touchdown’s in his two seasons. Since the 2011 season, Donnell Kirkwood has slightly improved his average yards rushing from 3.6 per attempt in 2011 up to 4.2 in the current season.

Despite Kirkwood’s big hit, Minnesota went on to lose to Northwestern 21-13, making Northwestern’s current record 6-1 for the season. The Minnesota Golden Gopher’s current season record is 4-2, going 0-2 in the Big Ten.
