According to Yahoo News, 45-year-old Vincent Legrend Walters was apprehended early Friday morning and is currently being held on an extradition request. Walters was wanted for  murder, drugs and weapons charges. According to the US Marshals Office, the once fugitive now prisoner hid in plain sight and reportedly boasted that he was a wanted fugitive.

Walters has been on the run since the late 1980′s after he purchased $20,000 worth of chemicals from undercover agents to make methamphetamine and negotiated an additional $200,000 deal with them. However, Walters then became uncomfortable holding the drugs and gave it to a San Diego dealer who passed it on to the dealer’s friend, Jay Bareno. Yet, when Walter’s inquired about the drugs he passed along and demanding the drugs be returned, Bareno told him they were gone. Walters and his brother, Martin, then allegedly kidnapped the dealer and his girlfriend, and offered the couple to Bareno in exchange for the drugs. While the men made the exchange, the female hostage died after gagging on a chemically saturated rag that authorities said killed her on the spot.

Walters was captured after the incident, however, escaped the clutches of the prisons. He will continue to serve his 25 to life sentence along with new charges after evading capture for 25 years.
