After a viewer emailed Jennifer Livingston of WKBT in La Crosse, Wisconsin the News anchor decided to fire back on air. The viewer emailed her saying: “surely you don’t consider yourself a suitable example for this communities young people, girls in particular. Obesity is one of the worst choices a person can make.”
Livingston fired back on air by saying: “The truth is, I am overweight,” she said. “But to the person who wrote me that letter, do you think I don’t know that? That your cruel words are pointing out something that I don’t see? You don’t know me… so you know nothing about me but what you see on the outside and I am much more than a number on a scale.”
Do you think it was appropriate for Livingston to confront her viewer live on air, or should she have kept that in house? She also went on to remind viewers that October is national bully prevention month.
