NYC Nanny Update: Yoselyn Ortega Arraigned in Hospital for Krim Murders. In a tragic event two young children were murdered by their NYC Nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, who has been arraigned at her NYC hospital bed, CNN Reports.
Breathing with the aid of a tube, Ortega was heavily sedated and under police watch on Friday at Weill Cornell Medical Center and was able to sustain consciousness late last weekend when she asked about her immediate family and asked for a lawyer. Interestingly it was said that she declined to ask about the Krim family and has asked to have her immediate family present with her.
According to the New York Post, neighbors said that she had been “unraveling in recent months, lost a lot of weight, looked very unhealthy and looked like she was going through some problems. She had aged a lot — like seven years in a few months,” said Ruben Diaz, 49.
Mamy are searching for answers as to what could have been a motive for the NYC Nanny in the killing of Mr. and Mrs. Krim’s two children, 6 year old Lulu Krim and 3 year old Leo Krim.
According to Fox News, A toxicology report came back negative for drugs.
Could the nanny’s motives have come from resentment and financial woes (despite reports of being paid a generous salary and given paid vacations to the Dominican Republic to see her family)? Fox News also reported that the Krims offered extra hours to Ortega, and also referred her to another family for a baby-sitting job on the side, though that family turned her down because they found her “a little too grumpy.”
Did Ms. Ortega lose her battle with a psychological problem rather, assumed through reports indicating that she was planning on seeking psychological counseling?
