Banks are not the only ones receiving bailouts on Wall Street as Occupy Wall Street mom Stacy Hessler abandons her family for a hefty some of $85,000.
According to the New York Post, Occupy Wall Street mom Stacy Hessler received $85,000 from her now ex-husband after she divorced and gave up custody of her four children. The Florida native abandoned her family to join the Occupy Wall Street movement a year ago and hasn’t looked back since.
Hessler, 39, who describes herself as a “midwives assistant, roller-derby queen, rock-star musician, activist, dreadlock princess, African-bee keeper and organic vegan freak,” officially divorced her husband, 43-year old former Bank of America financial adviser Curtis Hessler, on Oct. 16. The divorce settlement awarded the Occu-Mom the $79,585 fund and a $5,800 bank account.
Meanwhile, her husband and four children, son Peyton, 18, and daughters Kennedy, 16, Sullivan, 14, and Veda, 8, will stay together in their three-bedroom, bungalow-style home on East Rich Avenue. Curtis received sole custody of the children, but Stacy can see them anytime she wants as long as the children want to see her and it is in a safe environment.
Curtis initiated the divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” and saying the 19-year marriage “is irretrievably broken.” Stacy seemed unconcerned about it as one source stated “She didn’t seem sad about any of it. It was just so matter-of-fact.”
Stacy also shows no remorse for leaving her children behind as she once proclaimed, “Military people leave their families all the time, so why should I feel bad? I’m fighting for a better world.” Stacy has been featured on Youtube during the Occupy Wall Street protests and was also arrested in November at Zuccotti Park.
