The Greek Scientist who originally captured the event, posted these images onto his blog, calling them “Naughty Octopus” because of the location in which the Octopus was latched on.
If you look closely you will see that the Octopus is latched on in the genital area of the Dolphin.
The Dolphin could be seen leaping out of the water several times, in what appears to be an attempt to rid himself of the 8 legged creature.
Some Scientists have speculated that the Octopus latched on for a ride after the Dolphin may have been toying with it. In an effort to hide from the dolphin the Octopus latched on for a ride that this Bottle Nosed Dolphin probably wont be forgetting any time soon.
The Images were posted by Greek Scientists Joan Gonzalvo, on his Blog post.
The incident lasted a couple of hours, where it was obvious that the dolphin was making an effort to free himself from the tentacles of the invertebrate.
The dolphin was discovered swimming with a Pod off the coast of the island of Kalamos in the Ionian Sea.
After he finally rid himself of the Octopus he was able to return to the Pod of three according to the Scientist Joan Gonzalvo.
