President Obama was headed out onto the campaign trail until he learned Mitt Romney was headed to the Gulf Coast. Romney who had beaten the President to the punch canceling his campaign trip in Virginia was is on his way to the Gulf to visit with Hurricane Isaac victims.

A Romney aide told  ABC News that Romney would ‘join Governor Jindal and will meet with first responders, thank them for their work and see areas impacted by the storm’ in LaFitte, Louisiana, some 20 miles south of New Orleans.

President Obama who was headed to Cleveland Ohio to campaign is now also headed to the Gulf Coast.The President did have plans to visit Gulf states but not until after the relief efforts were well under way to track the progress.
