Mt. Pleasant Quarterback Princeton Harlan, 18 was a stand out quarterback being recruited by some of the biggest schools in the nation. Now all of that has come to a screeching halt amid allegations that Harlan and two of his teammates engaged in sexual acts with a 12-year-old girl.

Harlan, who was released on $100,000 bail, stands accused of having sex with a 12-year-old who fell pregnant in July and terminated the pregnancy without knowing who the father was, authorities said. The teens were sexually involved with the child on several occasions in the month of July.

WKRN reported that authorities began investigating Harlan and two other suspects, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, last month after the girl told her mother she thought she was pregnant.

Despite the fact that the three young men say the sex was consensual the three have been charged with child rape as the state rules anyone under the age of 13 cannot consent to sex. If convicted, they face 25 years in prison, and a $50,000 fine.

According to the Tennessean Princeton had been recruited by Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Cincinnati have shown interest in Harlan, a 6-foot-4, 188-pound senior quarterback who has passed for 1,585 yards and 17 touchdowns this season. He also rushed for 581 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Tigers (5-2).
