Study, after study has revealed that the addition of Fluoride into the water supply has adverse health risks. Yet many cities still continue to put fluoride into their water supplies.

Dr. Mercola has highlighted the dangers of Fluoride in the water supply. He has shared information from Dr. Paul Connett about the effects on a child’s IQ because of the intake of Flouride.

In another study involving Flouride groundbreaking new research has linked sodium fluoride to cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death worldwide. The study also mentions lower IQ scores as well as infertility. The study says that Sodium Fluoride hardens the arteries.

In a study published by the National Academies Press highlighting the effects of Fluoride in drinking water some interesting results have from from the information in the release.

The study highlights and evaluates the effects of Fluoride on the Reproductive and Developmental Effects of Fluoride, the Musculoskeletal EffectsEffects on the Gastrointestinal, Renal, Hepatic, and Immune Systems, as well as several more.

In the description which was authored by the Committee on Fluoride in Drinking Water, National Research Council they said:

“Most people associate fluoride with the practice of intentionally adding fluoride to public drinking water supplies for the prevention of tooth decay. However, fluoride can also enter public water systems from natural sources, including runoff from the weathering of fluoride-containing rocks and soils and leaching from soil into groundwater. Fluoride pollution from various industrial emissions can also contaminate water supplies. In a few areas of the United States fluoride concentrations in water are much higher than normal, mostly from natural sources. Fluoride is one of the drinking water contaminants regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) because it can occur at these toxic levels. In 1986, the EPA established a maximum allowable concentration for fluoride in drinking water of 4 milligrams per liter, a guideline designed to prevent the public from being exposed to harmful levels of fluoride. Fluoride in Drinking Water reviews research on various health effects from exposure to fluoride, including studies conducted in the last 10 years.”

The reason Fluoride was added to the water supply to begin with is highlighted here in this article. No matter what your stance is on the effects of Fluoride in the water supply it is always best to know what research studies have uncovered.
