St. Charles County, Missouri, Sheriff’s deputy Christopher E. Hunt, 38 was sentenced Friday to five years in prison after entering a home of a suspected meth cookout, in Middletown, Mo without a search warrant.

The arrest of Phillip Alberternst on of Feb. 5th 2005 has lead to the conviction of Hunt a member of the drug enforcement team conducting illegal arrests.

In August, he was found guilty of felony burglary and misdemeanor assault and property damage after a three-day trial that had Police officers testifying against Hunt.

Hunt plans to appeal his case, and he remains free after posting 10 percent of a $100,000 bail.
