To all of the good citizens of ZIMBABWE man your toilets…ready – set – FLUSH! Residents of Bulawayo City in Zimbabwe have been asked by their city council to flush their toilets at the same time to help unclog the cities sewage system.

The region where the second largest city in Zimbabwe is located has been hit by severe drought causing water rationing across the city. As a result the cities sewage system took a hit.

“We’re asking residents to flush their lavatories at precisely 7.30 p.m. on the day that water is re-introduced to their homes,” city spokeswoman Nesisa Mpofu said in a telephone interview from Bulawayo today.

With the Sewage systems as clogged as they are the city worries that pipes could burst from being overly clogged. As for the end of the drought? The rainy season begins in November but obviously those rains are eagerly anticipated.
