According to the Huffington Post, In Touch magazine recently invited 44-year-old Krentcil to do a photo shoot under the condition that she lay off tanning for one whole month. While the task was not easy according to Krentcil, she did succeed, “I’ve had moments where I’ve felt like, ‘I need to be tan.’ And I did all the spray tans and lotions and creams, too — anything to get dark. Once a doctor told me to stop tanning. But I didn’t listen to him. I wanted to be dark. I like looking like I just got back from vacation.”
While Krentcil noted that many of her friends and family have told her that she looks better without the heavy tan, she disagrees entirely. “I feel weird and pale.” She also admitted that this experience has deterred her from tanning, as she is likely to continue her tanning regiment.
The tanning mom became an instant media sensation after she was charged for child endangerment for allegedly putting her 5-year-old daughter in a tanning booth that left her with second-degree burns. However, Krentcil has always denied those charges and simply stated that while she let her child in the room while she tans in the booth, her daughter has been no where near the inside of an artificial tanning booth.
