Love triangles have caused some heinous crimes, and yet, a tattoo artist kills his adopted father in a twisted love triangle.
According to the Daily Mail, a tattoo artist has been arrested for allegedly killing the man who brought him up and decapitating his corpse with a shovel. 37-year-old Henry James Baxter has confessed to killing Erman Thompson, the man who treated him as a son throughout his life after a fight over Ashlie Thompson last Sunday.
The incident, which took place in Nashville, Tennessee, began with Baxter’s close relationship with 48-year-old Thompson.
Thompson has brought Baxter up since he was a child, and before the murder, Baxter was living with Thompson, his wife and three other children. However, while two of the children were Thompson’s, one was Baxter’s child.
According to the police report, the two men started arguing over the woman they both loved, and after the fight became too intense, Baxter shot Mr Thompson in the head with the victim’s own gun. All of the children were home at the time of the incident.
Baxter then proceeded to hide the body in a garbage can, and tried to dig a grave in the house’s back yard. However, Ashlie Thompson became suspicious when Baxter told her he was burying a dead dog.
Baxter chopped off the deceased victim’s head with the shovel and buried his body in the yard while leaving his head in the garbage. An off-duty mailman discovered the decomposing corpse on Thursday due to the smell of the body.
After identifying the body, Baxter then confessed to the murder and was taken into custody, where he is currently being held on $750,000 bond.
