Apparently humans can get some massive hairballs as well. A 19-year-old girl in Indore, India had a 4 pound hairball removed from her stomach. The young girl went to the hospital complaining of stomach pains saying that she could not eat or drink anything. Upon further evaluation doctors discovered a large mass in her stomach. A large Hairball!
According to the New York Daily News the girl had a habit of eating her hair and chalk while in class which eventually lead to a build up that clogged her stomach.
Dr. Parvinder Singh Lubana and a team of gastro-surgeons at Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital in Indore India were later able to successfully remove the giant hairball that was wrapped around a chunk of chalk that was stuck between the woman’s stomach and small intestine.
