At the ballpark in Arlington Texas, a lightning strike startled players, and fans alike during the Twins vs Rangers game. The base runner dropped to his knee’s and players ran to the dugout after hearing the thunderous strike.
There was no rumbling of thunder before the strike to give warning that an electrical storm was brewing. Just out of no where the strike had occurred.
The game resumed after 46 minutes, by which point the players appeared to have a sense of humour about the incident.
“That’s the loudest noise I’ve ever heard. I thought Jesus was comin!,” Twins center fielder Denard Span tweeted during the ensuing delay.
