To be honest, I would rather watch grass grow than watch the Democratic National Convention live. However, when I checked the news this morning, there was a line from a Democratic video that absolutely floored me.
“The Government is the only thing we all belong to.”

Let’s have a quick history lesson. Abraham Lincoln defined the role of government in the Gettysburg Address –
“…Government of the People, By the People, and For the People…”
According to the Declaration of Independence, there are limitations to be placed on government and actions to be taken when those limitations are exceeded –
“…But when a long train of abuses…to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security…”
Finally, those powers and limitations were spelled out in the U.S. Constitution with some clarifications added in each of the amendments.
Now, that has all changed.
Last night, the Democrats have proudly proclaimed that we all belong to the government. Think about it and let the reality of that statement soak in for a moment.
You are no longer a free and independent individual capable of making decisions for yourself – You belong to the government. The Democrats have declared that Americans are now to be considered property. You have no value as a person. You are something that will be used by the government as the government sees fit.
Anyone remember the last time in American history people were considered property? It was prior to the Civil War when slavery was still legal in this country.
The Democrats now want to institute a new form of slavery in this country.
If Obama is re-elected, the Democrats will relegate people to sheer and utter dependency on the government. Simply put, the government will be their new “master” whom without the American people would not survive.
So, the choice is simple: Are you a person or are you the property of the government?
