According to the Washington Post the 8th richest man in the world Sheldon Adelsen is putting his money behind GOP Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney. Gambling mega-tycoon Sheldon Adelsen is giving $10 million Super (PAC) Political Action Committee in support of Mitt Romney’s campaign.
The support is a bit odd considering Mitt Romney is a Mormon who is against gambling all together, but apparently money talks, when your talking $10 Million.
Adelsen, who is primarily responsible for reviving the Las Vegas Stripe knows who he wants. Some of this support may be due to the comments President Obama made several years back where he encouraged Americans to spend their money wisely, and stay away from places like Las Vegas.
In an Interview with Forbes Magazine back in March he said “I’m against very wealthy people attempting to or influencing elections,” “But as long as it’s doable I’m going to do it.” after being questioned about his very large donation to former GOP candidate Newt Gingrich.
