Fourteen lifeguards were fired from a Southern California community center for a spoof they did of a Korean pop song “Gangnam” on what they say was their off time.
In the YouTube video the young lifeguards who worked at a city pool in El Monte, California can be seen rubbing sunscreen on each other, dancing in synchronization and doing hip thrusts.
The city said in a statement that the group was fired for using city property, including the pool and their uniforms, for private use.
The group of Lifeguards said that their community does not see the harm in the video, and that there are many spoofs and parody’s across Youtube about Lifeguards.
