While most people love dolphins for their cute and fun loving nature, many would be surprised to find a dolphin mixed with a false killer whale. Known as the wolphin, it is a rare hybrid with only 2 existing in the world according to Urbantitian. While a false killer whale has 44 teeth and a dolphin has 88, the wolphin has 66. The first wolphin captured was named Kekaimalu and currently resides in Hawaii’s Sea Life Park.

While not exactly a hybrid as this mixture of a goat and a sheep was developed by scientific means, the geep deserves some recognition as a cross breed. While developed for scientific purposes to see if combining the genes of the two different breeds could produce an entirely different one, the cute wooly goat or the hairy sheep developed healthy and furthered science and genetic understanding.

In 2006, DNA testing confirmed an odd looking polar bear to have both a polar bear and grizzly bear for parents.

According to one beefalo breeder, Mark Merril described the taste of the meat, “It has a richer flavor and it’s milder and sweeter than beef. And more juicy.” Very few stores actually carry the meat, however, which is why the name and the breed are mostly unknown.
