According to CBS News, the Chicago Police Department will be holding an annual turn in gun event, where individuals can turn in their guns and receive $100. The police department is partnering up with 20 churches to hold the event, so there are plenty of locations to choose from.

According to First Deputy Supt. Alfonza Wysinger, real guns turned in will get a person $100 while replicas and BB guns are worth $10. In a statement to the press, Wysinger said:

No questions asked. Just show up at the church, and hand over the weapons to the CPD officer that will be there, and get your $100 gift card. So we strongly suggest that people come out that have weapons lying around the house, or weapons, maybe, that they don’t necessarily want in their house. This is a chance to get some money for their weapon, and get another dangerous weapon on the street.”

The annual turn in gun event where Chicago police offers gun owners 100 dollars is titled “Don’t Kill a Dream, Save a Life,” and will go on from at a variety of different locations in the area.
