Hugo Chavez has won his Fourth term in office by winning a new term of office in this Sunday’s presidential election after what has been billed the closest race of his political career.
According to the electoral council Mr. Chavez won 54% of the vote while his rival Henrique Capriles was behind with 44.9% of the vote.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was re-elected Sunday to a new six-year term which will ensure that his legacy will continue.
Chavez, who has been President since 1999, acknowledged his accomplishments in housing, education, and health initiatives and admits he needs to do more on crime and government bureaucracy.
