A former college volleyball star Megan Boken, 23 was gunned down at close range in her car when she returned to her old school for an alumnae game.
Megan was shot to death while she was in her car in the Central West End of Saint Louis, according to media reports. Witnesses say the that Megan was seen arguing with the man who shot her in the chest and neck.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, she was found with gunshot wounds to her neck and chest at about 2:20 p.m., and was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Witnesses believe that the man who shot her had gotten out of her car before the violence erupted. The man is described as a thin black man in his mid-20s, about 5-foot-8 tall with short hair.
The family says they don’t believe Megan had known the man who is the alleged gunman.
