Wade Michael Page has been identified as the Sikh temple shooting which occurred on the early afternoon of August 5th.
The 40-year-page old was an ex-Army serviceman out of Ft. Bragg in North Carolina, who received an other than honorable discharge from the Army served from April 1992 through October 1998. While in the Army Page was a part of the psychological operations unit.
Page was killed after his rampage killed six people at a temple just outside of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Including those killed were 5 members of the temple, and the temple’s president. It is believed that Page used a semi-automatic 9 mm handgun which is illegal in the sate of Wisconsin.
Witnesses said the gunman walked into the Sikh Temple opening fire as several dozen people prepared for Sunday services. Victims ranging in age from 39 to 84 years old lay dead. Three others were critically wounded.
There is no clear reasoning for why Page went on his killing spree of innocent people at a place of worship, but allegations of Page being tied to a White Supremacist group have emerged.
The FBI is investigating the shooting as a domestic terrorist act with political propaganda, and motivation as a potential reasoning for the shooting.
Page was a member of a band of three called “End Apathy” which had this to say on their Myspace ”The music is a sad commentary on our sick society and the problems that prevent true progress.”
