Woman in Air Force had her Husband shoot her in the leg to avoid deployment

A 25-year-old year old woman in the Air Force had her husband shoot her in the leg so that should would be unemployable. When Police arrived at the scene where Judy Groomes was being treated for wounds on her legs from a handgun the Airman told them she had been shot by a home intruder.

According to ABC affiliate KTBS, Bossier City police have arrested her husband Christopher Tyquan Groomes who is accused of shooting his wife so she could avoid going to Afghanistan. Groomes told the Police that a home intruder shot her while her husband and kids were sleeping. 

Both are active military based at nearby Barksdale Air Force Base.
