Grisel Ramirez, 48 had been living a lie in which she told her estranged husband that she was pregnant with his child.
When the due date for the child had passed the husband was asking when he gets to meet his daughter, and if he needs to sign the childs birth certificate.
Ramirez went into the Garden Grove hospital disguising her self in hostpital scrubs, posing as a visitor when she attempted to steal a newborn baby girl.
She told the babies mother to relax and take a shower before her family gets there. That is when she put the baby in a tote bag and tried to leave the floor. An alarm triggered by a tag on the baby’s ankle alerted hospital staff.
The estranged husband said he was surprised by the news, and said he had no idea his she would actually try and steal a baby. The couple had been separated for months and Grisel had told her husband she was pregnant with a girl.
