A would be robber got more than he expected when he discovered a dead body in the trunk of a car on the side of the road. The man who was driving with his wife, and baby decided to pull over and examine the vehicles contents.
After popping the trunk hoping to discover speakers it was then that that the man discovered the body of 28-year-old Donald Michael Lapointe.
According to Click2Houston.com homicide detectives said they received a call at 4:30 a.m. from someone reporting the crime. Police said the man who approached the vehicle was attempting to steal from it.
The mans body was discovered with his face severely beaten and gun shot wounds to the chest. There are no suspects at the moment but it is believed to be drug related after the discovery of pills in the mans pants.
The would be robber is not considered a suspect in this crime.
